Elite on C64

Elite on NES

a small game, with massive influence. this open-ended space trading and combat game has been one of the major influences in sci-fi video games since its’ release in 1984, and appearance on almost every computer and console variant at the time. the player travels around a massive universe, engaging in buy-low-sell-high business, or combat, or piracy, or whatever they really want. there’s no real aim to the game, except perhaps to increase your number of kills. the game was contained within a small code size, and used clever algorithms to generate its universe on the limited hardware of the day. the nes and archimedes elite versions are considered the best conversions
