bachelor pasta
so-called because it’s all cooked in one pot, hence there’s less washing up to do!
3 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, peeled and diced
500g beef mince
1 cup red wine
2x 400g cans diced/crushed tomatoes
2 cups water (original recipe says 1 cup)
2½ cups small pasta shapes (original recipe says 1 cup)
heat oil in saucepan, cook onion until softened but not colored. add mince and stir fry to brown
stir in red wide, simmer 2-3 mins. add tomatoes and water, bring to boil
add pasta, simmer 15 mins, stir regularly to revent sticking. salt and pepper to taste
stir in a small tub of tomato paste. serve w/ parmesan, basil, oregano
